Chicago Cubs Lineup: Nico Hoerner Moves Up

Chicago Cubs

The Brewers are stomping the Cubs into the ground this weekend. And the White Sox, Dodgers, and Padres are up next. How about we win a game, eh?

Chicago Cubs Lineup:

1. Alfonso Rivas, 1B
2. Seiya Suzuki, RF
3. Ian Happ, LF
4. Frank Schwindel, DH
5. Patrick Wisdom, 3B
6. Jason Heyward, CF
7. Nico Hoerner, SS
8. Yan Gomes, C
9. Nick Madrigal, 2B

SP: Marcus Stroman

Alfonso Rivas is leading off today, which is nice to see … even if it comes against Corbin Burnes (good luck with that). But I’m even more interested in Nico Hoerner finally moving out of the 9th spot of the lineup. Sure, he’s hit a bit of slump these last few games, but he’s generally looked good at the plate this year and a move up was only a matter of time.

David Ross has backfilled that spot with Nick Madrigal. Meanwhile, Frank Schwindel is your DH and Willson Contreras gets the day off in favor of Yan Gomes.

As usual, we’ll have your full Pre-Gamin’ post closer to game time (1:10 CT).
