Pre-Gamin’: White Sox at Cubs (6:40 CT) – Lineups, Broadcast Info, Game Thread
Do I expect the Cubs to contend for the playoffs this season? Nah. Not if I really answer honestly. But I am nowhere NEAR ready for them to be the team you look forward to playing when things aren’t going your way. So I’m gonna need Kyle Hendricks and the Cubs to take care of business tonight against the White Sox. Split the series. Even their records. Make the White Sox complain that they can’t even beat the Cubs.
That’s better than the alternative, for now.
But the question is which Hendricks is going to show up tonight? Will it be the guy that held the Pirates scoreless on two hits over 7.0 innings two starts ago? Or will it be the guy the Brewers chased after scoring 6 runs on 7 hits (3 HRs) in 4.1 IP his last start? Weirdly, Hendricks, who’s usually MUCH better at Wrigley Field, has had all his best starts on the road this season. Is that script going to flip tonight? Let’s hope. GO CUBS.
