Strictly speaking, Nico Hoerner (0-4) has had an incredible poor night at the plate. But anyone watching the game will know just how much of that was truly horrible luck:

But even in the face of that bad luck, Hoerner has left his stamp on this one, using only his legs.
With one out in the top of the eighth inning, Hoerner hit a 98.9 MPH rocket right at Manny Machado who started throwing it around the horn for what was initially called a double-play. But after review, the umpires determined that the hustling Hoerner beat the throw and was safe at first.
The next batter, Ian Happ, laced a liner into right field that found just enough grass for him to stretch it into a double. That gave Hoerner a window to just … keep on running. So he did. And he scored.
It was awesome.
Happ!

Dare I say that was Javy-esq? What an awesome play. So much hustle all around.
