It hasn’t been a great start to Jonathan Villar’s time with the Chicago Cubs. Miscues in the field, a bat that had gone ice cold since a nice series in Colorado last month, and a guy who generally just didn’t look like the guy we remember from his best days with the Brewers and Orioles.
But, at least for tonight, he had a great moment – his first homer of the year:

As you can see, Villar was PUMPED to finally get that off his back, and his teammates appreciated it, too. This is a guy who averaged about 15 homers per full season over the past half-decade, so you expect more power than he’s shown so far. Nice to see it tonight.
