What a wild lineup. Five of the Opening Day starters are out for various reasons (Nico Hoerner, Nick Madrigal, and Jason Heyward are hurt/on the IL, while Rafael Ortega and Ian Happ are just getting the day off).
Meanwhile, Patrick Wisdom is playing left field to make room for Jonathan Villar … who’s getting another shot at third base (likely because he’s 5-7 with two doubles, a homer, and a walk against Bumgarner). And beyond that, Christopher Morel is getting more exposure in center field and Willson Contreras continues to lead off and DH against left-handers.
