It was one of those nights where a baseball game seemed so insignificant, and I had trouble following in the way I usually do.
The Cubs’ bats once again loved being in Cincinnati, with everyone but Seiya Suzuki and Ian Happ reaching base at least twice. Frank Schwindel had a huge night, including two homers. Even Andrelton Simmons had three hits on the night, so you know the bats were cookin’. Third straight win for the Cubs.
Marcus Stroman started his night staked to a 3-0 lead, and then saw the Reds score two of their own in his 37-pitch first inning. Not what you wanted for a guy you’re really hoping gets on a consistent track and soon.
… and then Stroman pitched the next four innings without letting the Reds do a thing.
It's an 8-strikeout night for @STR0! pic.twitter.com/SfHxoA7cOD

Good night all around for the Cubs on the field.
