Ian Happ Just Made an Incredible Diving Catch and Double-Play!

Ian Happ’s offensive production has been excellent this season, even as we adjust to a slightly new look approach at the plate (less power, fewer strikeouts). But his defense in left field has been just as strong all season. Perhaps sticking to just one spot instead of moving all over is making an impact.

In any case, that defense was on full display in the bottom of the second inning today, when Happ made an excellent diving (and rolling) catch on a liner to left field and then turned it into two outs, doubling off Aristides Aquino at second base.

GREAT read, great play.

Something Has to Change, and I Have Some Suggestions

Last night, the Chicago Cubs lost the way they always lose this season: No timely hitting (1-7 w/ RISP) + a bullpen meltdown (3.0 IP, 4H, 5ER, 3BB, 4K). Only the Chicago White Sox have more blown saves than the...
