Alfonso Soriano often got a bad rap when he was with the Chicago Cubs because his best years came early in his big contract – as they almost always do for free agents in their 30s – but he was never as bad as people made him out to be. Overall, he was absolutely worth the contract he received, and he was a really affable, fun teammate.
Soriano was also the rare athlete who wound up getting WAY MORE jacked after his playing days. Look at this beefcake from over the holidays last year:
