The Cubs trailed by two or three runs all day, but after Christopher Morel singled to put himself on base in the 8th, Rafael Ortega came up as the would-be game-tying run.
And he went boom to do just that:
That’s Ortega’s 4th homer on the year, and his season slash line is up to .269/.361/.395/115 wRC+ even after the very slow April. He’s a platoon bat, but he handles righties so well and can play all over the outfield. Just a really solid player.
