It’s nice to have Pete Crow-Armstrong highlights back. Is that sad, or is that fine with all of us? Don’t judge me! The big league team is what it is right now …
One of the Cubs’ best prospects and a huge 2022 breakout, PCA had to sit down for a few weeks with a bone bruise in his hand. It was a bummer to be without the highlights he’d been compiling, so it’s good to have him back.
For example, last night, PCA tripled in the South Bend Cubs’ win over the Beloit Sky Carp. And then he tripled again. Yup, two triples in one game, which I don’t see too often. Naturally, he lost his helmet on both, while he shows off his elite speed:
Crow-Armstrong has had just 12 games at High-A South Bend so far, and the 20-year-old outfielder figures to play there the rest of this season. In total on the year – his first full pro season – he’s hitting .316/.389/.536/154 wRC+.
