Last night, his second rehab appearance at Triple-A Iowa, Seiya Suzuki went 1-3 with a double and a walk. Like the game before, although he got results, what REALLY matters is that he keeps feeling good.
And since he did, that puts a POSSIBLE Fourth of July return on the table:
The Cubs play in Milwaukee on Monday the 4th, so that is when we could finally see Seiya Suzuki back with the big league team.
He’s expected to play again tonight for the Iowa Cubs, starting in right field, so it’s possible this is the final checkpoint. If he plays with good health, if he seems on time at the plate, and if he feels good on Sunday, he might head out and rejoin the big league team Monday. Here’s hoping.
