Justin Steele is on the mound for the Cubs this afternoon, coming off a nice outing against the Reds (5.0, 6H, 1ER, 3BB, 6Ks) and a nice stretch overall.
I said it in the series preview earlier today, but it just feels like he’s developed into a sure-fire rotation member, even if we don’t necessarily know how good he actually is just yet. That, alone, has a lot of value.
Eric Lauer is on the bump for the Brewers, and he is in the middle of a very rough stretch over his last four starts: 21.2 IP, 8.31 ERA.
