Happ Takes Care of the No-No, Wisdom Ends the Shutout … HOOOOOOOME RUUUUUN!

Chicago Cubs

The Cubs entered the 7th inning without recording a single hit against Giants lefty Alex Wood tonight. But Ian Happ made quick work of the no-no with a hard single up the middle to leadoff the inning. And a couple of outs later, Patrick Wisdom ended the shutout with his 18th homer of the season (and 50th of his career)!

The homer barely got out – in fact, it was challenged by the Giants for fan interference – but they all count the same if they go over the wall. That cut the Giants lead in half (from 4-0 to 4-2), and remember, the Cubs have a winning streak at stake here!
