On the one hand, Justin Steele has been very good lately, even flashing an ability to grind through outings without his best stuff. But on the other hand, the Giants are one of the toughest offenses vs. LHP in MLB this season.
The Cubs have also been good against lefties this year (105 wRC+) and Alex Wood has some pretty significant lefty/righty splits (righties are hitting .282/.334/.436 off him), but he’s been a lot better at home than on the road.
It’s a good matchup. And the Giants are teetering on the edge of buyers/sellers, so this game is going to be very important to them.
