Pre-Gamin’: Cubs at Cardinals (12:15 CT) – Lineups, Broadcast Info, Game Thread
After being rained out last night, the Chicago Cubs have a couple of games on tap today. Marcus Stroman is pitching the first game for the Cubs, bouncing Justin Steele, but the Cardinals are sticking with Miles Mikolas. Here’s what I said about Mikolas last night: “Miles Mikolas will face the Cubs for the third time this year. They tagged him for 4 ER over 5.0 innings pitched in early June, but he got the best of them in their second matchup at Busch: 6.0 IP, 4H, 1ER, 1BB, 9Ks.”
Stroman, meanwhile, has been very good over four starts since coming off the injured list: 20.1 IP, 2ER, 6BB, 17Ks. His first two outings were pretty short, but he’s gone 6.0 innings in each of his last two games, and he’s faced only contenders so far (Dodgers, Mets, Phillies, Giants). I am very happy to see him turning his season around in a big way and I hope that continues this afternoon.
Go Cubs.
