The Cubs are so streaky this year.
More bad than good, obviously, but here they are, back in third place, with a chance at a three-game sweep. Two days ago, they were riding a five-game losing streak in last place of the NL Central. Anyway, here’s the Morel-Less lineup for the finale at Wrigley Field.
Chicago Cubs Lineup:
- Nick Madrigal, 2B
- Willson Contreras, DH
- Seiya Suzuki, RF
- Patrick Wisdom, 3B
- Nico Hoerner, SS
- Ian Happ, LF
- Yan Gomes, C
- Frank Schwindel, 1B
- Nelson Velázquez, CF
SP: Adrian Sampson, RHP
Without knowing for sure, you should be able to tell the Cubs are facing a left-handed pitcher today. Rafael Ortega is on the bench, Patrick Wisdom is batting higher in the order, and Nelson Velázquez is actually getting a start.
Normally, this lineup would feature Chris Morel leading off, but he exited yesterday’s game with some hamstring tightness. So I’m guessing he’s headed towards a nice little rest.
As usual, we’ll have your full Pre-Gamin’ post closer to game time (1:20 CT).
