Willson Contreras Got Hurt Rounding Second Base and He’s Out of the Game (UPDATE: Actually, He’s Somehow Staying In?!)

You hate to see an injury for any player at any moment. But man, seeing Willson Contreras go down AT the Field of Dreams Game is really rough.

Rounding second base in the third inning, and then slowing to return to second, Contreras rolled his ankle BADLY, and went down in a heap. He was then tagged out, and left the field with the trainers in considerable visible discomfort. (UPDATE: He’s somehow staying in?!? I mean, I would never want to take this away from him, but this seems like a really bad idea). That’s not always a terrible injury, even as bad as it looked, so we’ll hope for the best.
