There’s a lot of rain in the forecast today, I wonder if they’ll get this one in. (UPDATE: Goal is 2pm CT for first pitch.)
If they do, Marcus Stroman will be on the mound for the Cubs coming off a short outing against the Nationals (4.2 IP) that saw 4 earned runs evaporate after a official scoring adjustment changed a hit to an error. Stroman has generally looked good since returning from the IL, but he is two-games removed from that brief stretch of dominance (1.67 ERA in his first five starts back).
With that said, Stroman has faced Milwaukee twice this season, and he’s been good in both:
vsMIL: 5.0 IP, 2H, 1ER, 3BB, 3Ks
@MIL: 7.0 IP, 2H, 0ER, 1BB, 5Ks
Meanwhile, Freddy Peralta is starting for the Brewers in what’ll be his fourth start back from the IL. So far, he hasn’t made it out of the fifth inning, he’s been a little wild, and the contact has been hard and in the air, BUT he hasn’t allowed too many runs (3.55 ERA).
As you could imagine, the peripherals are worse than that, but again, results haven’t been horrible. Go Cubs.
