The series continues, with Wade Miley and the Cubs taking on Johan Oviedo and the Pirates in Pittsburgh. A win tonight would give the Cubs the series and bring Chicago up to FOUR GAMES over .500 in the second-half of the season. Here’s David Ross’ lineup for Game 3 in Pittsburgh.
Chicago Cubs Lineup:
- Zach McKinstry, SS
- Esteban Quiroz, 2B
- Patrick Wisdom, RF
- Ian Happ, LF
- Yan Gomes, C
- Franmil Reyes, DH
- David Bote, 3B
- Jared Young, 1B
- Christopher Morel, CF
SP: Wade Miley, LHP
Oviedo, a righty, has very extreme reverse splits this season, with righties hitting him far better than lefties:
LHH vs. Oviedo: .140/.279/.193 (.232 wOBA)
RHH vs. Oviedo: .290/.371/.473 (.369 wOBA)
And although they’re not quite as pronounced, these same reverse splits carry across his entire career. Something to keep in mind tonight.
As usual, we’ll have your full Pre-Gamin’ post closer to game time (5:35 CT).
