At Long Last, the Cubs Convention is Coming Back!

Chicago Cubs

The Cubs Convention in January of 2020 was among the last “normal” things I did before the pandemic. It was certainly my last bit of travel. It was my last time being in huge crowds and not thinking about much other than where I was going. It’s weird to think back to that world, within the context of the new one.

That is to say, I still don’t know how best to talk about this phase of the post-pandemic world, but I know that it’s still probably different for a lot of folks than how things were in January 2020. I recognize and acknowledge that, even as I have made the choice to get back to as much “normal” as possible.

So it is with great excitement that I saw today’s new from the Chicago Cubs:

More details are assuredly forthcoming, as folks will need to think about making travel and accommodation plans, but the dates are there in the video: January 13-15, 2022. I’ll update when there’s more information available, but you can absolutely plan on me being there like a gigantic Cubs nerd.

And now if you want to get all Positive Conspiracy Theory, you say … maybe this is all the more evidence that the Cubs plan on being very active this offseason to bring in some exciting new players, some of whom would, coincidentally, be first introduced to the fans at Cubs Convention …
