Chicago Cubs Lineup: Still No Seiya Suzuki

Chicago Cubs

Happy Hayden Wesneski Day! The Cubs rookie is one of the most exciting reasons to watch the Cubs right now, and he gets his toughest matchup of the season tonight. Here’s David Ross’ lineup for Game 2 in Philadelphia.

Chicago Cubs Lineup:

  1. Zach McKinstry, 3B
  2. Esteban Quiroz, 2B
  3. Willson Contreras, DH
  4. Ian Happ, LF
  5. Nico Hoerner, SS
  6. Patrick Wisdom, RF
  7. Yan Gomes, C
  8. Alfonso Rivas, 1B
  9. Chris Morel, CF

SP: Hayden Wesneski, RHP

Dang it. Even though Seiya Suzuki is off the restricted list and back with the team, he’s not in the lineup for the second straight day. The Cubs are reportedly taking some time to fully examine his hand (which was hit by a pitch just before he went on paternity leave), which is smart. But I was kinda hoping to see him in the lineup tonight, especially with Contreras and Hoerner back and Wesneski on the mound.

Alas.

As usual, we’ll have your full Pre-Gamin’ post closer to game time (6:40 CT).
