The Chicago Cubs won their fifth game in a row and ninth game in their last ten, letting the Cincinnati Reds hand them some runs and shutting them down offensively.
Adrian Sampson was outstanding today. Again. There’s an obvious lineup caveat when you’re facing this iteration of the Reds – they are *terrible* – but they are also still professionals, and you have to perform. Sampson did, like he has done for so long now:

Offensively, the Cubs were hit-collectors today, putting the ball in play and letting the runs come as they would. I liked that.
