Was That Willson Contreras’s Last Homer in a Cubs Uniform?

Chicago Cubs

The Marquee broadcast had only just started to talk to Cubs pitching coach Tommy Hottovy when Willson Contreras very loudly interrupted.

“That’s hit,” said Hottovy. Indeed it was. Contreras had hit it all the way out of the park:

104.4 mph off the bat, and 408 feet. Willson Contreras has always shown a whole lot of power to center field. For Willson, it was homer number 22, and the slash line is up to .241/.346/.465/130 wRC+. Maybe the last homer for Contreras in a Cubs uniform? Sad to think about, but maybe.

Just an outstanding, outstanding season at the plate for Contreras as he heads into free agency. Here’s hoping he wasn’t hitting that dinger just to show off for the Cardinals
