David Bote Gets the Cubs Started on the Final Day of the Season – Three-Run Blast

Chicago Cubs

Because of the down years that preceded this season, and because of the shoulder injury that cost him so much of it, we have talked very little about David Bote lately. I’m sure there’s more discussion coming as the 40-man roster crunch arrives, but Bote is certainly doing what he can to make that an easier one.

Quietly, Bote has put together an above-average season at the plate (41 games), and capped it with a three-run homer today:

Just curled that oppo shot in, which seems like a rarity for Bote, who is more of a gap-to-gap guy. But the power was always there.

On the year, Bote, 29, is hitting .257/.309/.425/106 wRC+.
