Anthony Rizzo, Whom I Still Like Very Much, With a Big Blast to Beef Up the Yankees Lead

Chicago Cubs

Although I am pulling for the Cleveland Guardians over the New York Yankees because obviously, it’s not like I can just stop rooting for Anthony Rizzo.

So if the Yankees were going to build out a three-run lead tonight against the Guardians, I suppose I would hope that it came on the back of a two-run Rizzo homer. Which it just did:

Unlike his teammate Josh Donaldson, Rizzo knew this one was ACTUALLY a home run before he started trotting.

Rizzo has the chance to make a serious postseason run this year with a loaded Yankees club, and I wish him – and somehow only him – nothing but the best in that regard.

After the season, Anthony Rizzo will have the chance to opt out of his current deal with the Yankees and head back into free agency. It makes for a very interesting decision.
