Merry Christmas: The Cubs Just Dropped a Whole Video on the Time Ben Zobrist Struck Out Yadier Molina

One of my favorite Chicago Cubs moments in recent years was a completely silly and superfluous one, but perfect in so many respects. And now I get to spend about six more minutes with it.

In late September 2019, the Cubs were playing the Cardinals on the final day of the season, getting smoked and missing the playoffs. It was hard to imagine anything happy and memorable happening in that one.

And then Ben Zobrist, in the final game of his career, got to pitch. Not only did he pitch, but he finished by STRIKING OUT YADIER MOLINA:

Just a joy of a moment, and you could see it for both Zobrist and Molina.

Here’s where Christmas comes early: today the Chicago Cubs released a new episode of “The Breakdown,” and it’s all about that moment!
