Northwestern Football is Coming Back to Wrigley Field for a Game This Fall Against Iowa

For the Big Ten football fans among you, it’s coming back to Wrigley Field this fall.

The Northwestern Wildcats will once again host a game at Wrigley, this time against the Iowa Hawkeyes. The 2021 event must’ve gone well now that the ballpark has been adjusted to better accommodate football.

So, set your calendar reminder for November 4:

Wrigley Field is such a beautiful venue for sports that I’m glad to see its ancillary value being put to use for more than concerts.

… as long as the Cubs have wrapped up the World Series by then. I kid(ish), but it should be fine. The regular season this year ends on October 1, so the World Series should be completed just before November 4 would roll around. I’d say it’s a pretty good bet that the Cubs excluded a possible World Series date from Northwestern’s consideration juuuuust in case.
