Joe West’s Apparent New Job in Retirement: Pugnacious Editor of His Own Wikipedia Page

Chicago Cubs

Infamous Major League Baseball umpire Joe West hung up his face mask last year after taking the crown for most MLB games umped. His crown for most needless arguments, ejections, and spotlight grabs had already long been secured.

So, then, with MLB games behind him and no managers or players to scold, where oh where will West find his new arguments?

On his own Wikipedia page, of course! As originally found on reddit, and chronicled by Awful Announcing, it sure seems like West is beefing with other Wikipedia editors about his page, and may even be threatening legal action:

Idle hands and all that.

West is probably not going to win this one, because unlike an umpire’s significant authority on the baseball diamond, a person is not supposed to editing his own Wikipedia page. Neither are ejections effective.
