Pete Crow-Armstrong Can Literally Catch Fly Balls Behind His Back

Chicago Cubs

The Chicago Cubs’ top prospect, Pete Crow-Armstrong, rocketed up top-100 rankings this winter (as high as #14!), in large part because of the strides he took offensively last season. He slashed .354/.443/.557 (174 wRC+) in 183 plate appearances in A-Ball. And after being promoted, he finished the season with a .287/.333/.498 slash line in High-A. Just a really solid performance at the plate that helped take his scouting reports to the next level.

But anyone around here should know by know that PCA isn’t known for his offense. He’s known for his OUTSTANDING defensive prowess in center field. But even having seen all of the unbelievable catches and ridiculous fielding grades, I didn’t quite expect him to be literally catching fly balls behind his back.

And yet …

… what’s next, eyes closed?

This guy is an absolute defensive wizard and should be roaming center field on the North Side of Chicago sometime in the next 1.5 seasons.
