Tucker Barnhart Sends One to Canada for His First Cubs Spring Homer
It’s only the spring, but it’s a first: the first homer in a Chicago Cubs uniform for Tucker Barnhart.
I was just noting how the Cubs really haven’t shown much thump this spring, and here comes Barnhart laying the wood on Canada:
Although he’s not a huge power guy, Barnhart had always been good for a little bit of thump until last year with the Tigers (that ballpark is as much death on homers as Barnhart’s former park in Cincinnati was life).
Oh, and in case you’re wondering about the headline: no, it wasn’t a prodigious blast, but it DID land in the Canada bullpen. So it’s technically fine.
