Seiya Suzuki’s Oblique is Feeling Very Good

Chicago Cubs

Here’s a very happy update for your Wednesday morning.

Seiya Suzuki’s oblique is back to perfect:

If Suzuki is playing a back-to-back full-ish game today, then I would assume he’ll get tomorrow off, and play his first rehab game on Friday. South Bend is on the road in the Quad Cities that night for their season opener, and the Iowa Cubs are on the road in St. Paul.

You don’t HAVE to rehab a guy at a home park, but it can be a nice thing to do for a little extra measure of control and a bit of home crowd fun. And the Cubs don’t HAVE to rehab guys with South Bend or Iowa, it’s just that they most commonly do, for geographic reasons. For what it’s worth, the Tennessee Smokies are at home this weekend, as are the Myrtle Beach Pelicans.
