Cubs vs Dodgers: Pitching Matchups, Injuries, Broadcast Info
We’re eleven games into the 2023 regular season, and the Chicago Cubs (6-5) are still above .500. But they’ve got a very tough stretch starting tonight, with seven games against the Dodgers and three against the Padres over their next 13 games.
On the bright side, they’ll be getting Seiya Suzuki back tonight. He just finished up his Triple-A rehab assignment after an oblique strained sidelined him in Spring Training. On the flip side, Cody Bellinger may be heading out on the paternity list soon. Losing him will probably sting a bit, because he’s been hitting the ball better lately and plays high quality defense in center field. On the flip-flip side, Nelson Velázquez has certainly earned some playing time and figures to get it in his absence.
The pitching matchups figure to favor the Cubs in the first two games of this series, but Julio Urias looms on Sunday against Drew Smyly, and that one certainly leans L.A.’s way. That is to say, you really hope the Cubs find a way to win tonight or tomorrow.
