Kyle Hendricks’ Rehab Start is Underway, and He Gets a Boost from a Ridiculous Matt Mervis Homer

Kyle Hendricks kicked off his first rehab start with some weak contact falling in for hits, paired with some hard contact driving in runs, and it took him 31 pitches to get through the first inning. Hopefully Hendricks can still go a couple more innings – remember, this is all just about him getting in game action and stretching out. Results don’t much matter. But he DOES have to get acclimated and stretched out.

In the inning, Hendricks was sitting 86-87 mph with his fastball (touching 88), and notched a couple strikeouts:

Bonus fun from the game, right after Hendricks finished his first inning, you had Matt Mervis hitting another home run.
