Nelson Velazquez Just Smoked Another Home Run!
Today, the Chicago Cubs made the decision NOT to send outfielder Nelson Velazquez back down to Triple-A Iowa upon Cody Bellinger’s return.
That was a good decision:
That thing got out in a hurry. I love watching Nelly swing.
Velazquez has gotten very few big league opportunities this year, but the ones he’s gotten, he’s made count. It’s not just the THREE homers in 17 plate appearances (plus two doubles, four singles, and three walks!). It’s that he looks like such a professional up there. Just steady, confident, and ready for whatever role he’s given.
