Despite earlier in the week suggesting that Jameson Taillon would not be available to come off the IL tomorrow and start for the Cubs, David Ross announced after tonight’s TERRIBLE LOSS that Taillon would indeed be ready to go.
Taillon, who is now over his groin strain, threw about 45 pitches yesterday in a simulated game, so I would expect that he won’t be permitted to go over 60 pitches tomorrow. That means it’ll probably be a shorter outing, and maybe Javier Assad, just called up today, will piggyback.
And maybe the bats will score a few runs so that it won’t matter. And maybe the front office will bring up some reinforcements (there is a 40-man roster spot open). And maybe. And maybe.
