Miguel Amaya Got So Into the Spirit That He Sang ‘Go Cubs Go’ on the Mic After the Cubs Win

I suspect many of you have seen this by now, but for those of you who didn’t catch it after the game, I knew you’d enjoy it as much as I did.

After coming into the game in the 8th inning as a pinch hitter and recording his first big league hit, Cubs rookie Miguel Amaya stayed in the game to finish out the 9th behind the plate. After the win, he was on the field to get a post-game interview from Taylor McGregor. But Amaya was somewhere else at the moment, taking in the crowd signing, ‘Go Cubs Go.’ So taken was Amaya that he joined in, and McGregor caught it on the mic:

That is just sweet stuff. Electric, indeed.

If you missed Amaya’s hit, it was the kind you get rewarded with when you’ve otherwise smoked the ball five times and hadn’t yet recorded a hit:
