Christopher Morel’s Latest 400+ Foot Homer Ties the Game
David Ross rolled the dice tonight in starting Christopher Morel in left field, where he hasn’t played in a while, and in a ballpark whose left field is notoriously tricky. Immediately, in the first inning, the dice roll failed to pay off, as Morel couldn’t track down a very catchable fly ball in the alley, which directly led to two runs and indirectly led to two more.
But even if Morel’s defensive position was arguably not ideal, HAVING him in the LINEUP is always ideal.
A few innings later, the Cubs put together a little rally to tie the game, capped by this Morel BLAST to left field:
That was 401 feet, which is pretty short by Morel’s standards. He only hits tanks over 400 feet, so this was barely the minimum.
