Matt Mervis Just Sent One Into the Bleachers

We were JUST talking about how Matt Mervis’s quality of contact seemed to MAYBE be starting to improve, and his first at bat tonight is definitely going to flow with that narrative.

A mistake from Tylor Megill, and Matt Mervis does some mashing:

You gotta love using the alleys at Wrigley Field (though, to be fair, Statcast says that one would’ve been out at six other ballparks, too, including Citi Field). Heck, that thing still went 395 feet and it looked like Mervis barely got it. Suffice to say, he has some power. Don’t let him get adjusted and hot, league.
