A quick pre-game update on a couple injured Cubs who have moved their rehab to Arizona, and a guy who is getting a breather tonight.
In Arizona, Cody Bellinger (knee) is seemingly up and through all baseball activities, while Brad Boxberger (forearm) threw a fairly lengthy bullpen:
I would expect a rehab assignment for each guy could come as soon as early next week. Perhaps Tuesday, when the full-season affiliates get back underway after Monday’s off-day?
As for Seiya Suzuki, who is out of the lineup tonight, it doesn’t sound like he’s dealing with any specific injury. Just the grind:
Whatever the small things are, they didn’t seem to impede Suzuki’s performance the last couple nights. Hopefully a little rest is all he needs. Who among us.
