This should be good. Get your popcorn ready.
The New York Mets are in the midst of what would be a dramatic June swoon in any context, but when you consider that they cost over $400 million this year, it’s something else entirely. I wrote a bit about it this morning after they lost to the Brewers – I care way more about the Brewers moving back into first place, but lolMets comes in second – and apparently it wasn’t just that things had gotten on my radar as especially bad. Even the man in charge, himself, has reached a breaking point.
Steve Cohen is going to speak:
I will be doing a press conference tomorrow before the game. You will get it from me straight.

An MLB owner announcing that he’s going to have a pre-game press conference the next day is, to put it mildly, quite rare. And given that Cohen is uniquely unpredictable and candid among MLB owners, that’s going to be one to watch.
Buck Showalter and Billy Eppler getting the boot? Maybe! Each being put on notice that they’re in trouble? It’s possible! Individual players being called out? It could happen!
All I can say is that Cohen should DEFINITELY NOT take questions … but for entertainment purposes, he should DEFINITELY take questions.
