Are you a Chicago Cubs reliever who is starting to look decent? Bad news: your forearm is about to start hurting.
I kid, but only barely. For the second time this year, and marking the third pitcher in the current bullpen to hit the IL with a forearm issue, Brad Boxberger is out:
Boxberger, of course, missed most of this season already with a forearm strain, and only just returned to the big league bullpen. He looked useful, if not his usual self. But now he’s gone again.
Here’s hoping Keegan Thompson can be the best version of himself, if necessary, over this final week+ of the regular season. What an absolute implosion the bullpen has become.
Oh, also, Javier Assad is back in the bullpen, if you missed it.
