Kevin Alcantara Led Off Tonight’s Game with a Bomb (UPDATE: And Then Did It Again!)

Kevin Alcantara wasted no time giving the Tennessee Smokies the lead on Tuesday night (or maybe he just wanted to be a spiritual part of the homer party going on at Wrigley Field).

Facing off against the Rocket City Trash Pandas, Alcantara blasted one sky-high to left field to lead off the game. While David Calabrese tried to track the ball down, it didn’t take him long to realize he had no shot.

Watch the bomb:

The homer marked Alcantara’s third of the season and continued a nice hot streak for the 21-year-old. After starting the season ice cold failing to record a hit in his first seven games, Alcantara has now touched the bases in five straight games.

In fact, Kevin Alcantara has already recorded two hits tonight to help give the Smokies a 5-2 lead in the 4th inning, which means he’s had four multi-hit games in his last six. Keep bombing away, Kevin!

UPDATE: He homered again. Tonight is lousy with Cubs homers. Incredible.
