I’ve seen versions of this play first hand … back in my little league days. But even then, it was saved for our fastest player, and it usually involved him immediately stealing second base after a walk, when everyone’s guard was down. And even THEN, it only worked ~25% of the time. So to see this executed so flawlessly – from SECOND BASE TO HOME — is impressive. And funny.
I don’t think I’d exactly call this a “2 RBI Walk,” but two runs certainly did score on a regular old walk.
That’s a good reminder, my friends: Don’t turn your back unless you’re sure the play is dead.
