I don’t know about you, but after that loss last night, followed immediately by the Justin Steele scratch news, I needed a pick-me-up.
So let’s together enjoy back-to-back absolute rocket home runs from Kevin Alcántara and Moises Ballesteros at Triple-A Iowa:
You can tell those things were crushed just by the moment of impact. The sound! BOTH of them rounded to 110 mph off the bat:
Off the charts, indeed.
Two of the younger players in Triple-A (with Ballesteros a year-and-a-half younger than Alcántara), these are both significant prospects on the projection side, and in production so far, too. In their first go at Triple-A, Alcántara is hitting .269/.360/.423/107 wRC+, and Ballesteros is hitting .284/.351/.485/116 wRC+. The latter is the better offensive prospect going forward, though the former brings plus defense in center field. Just a couple studs.
… who, by the way, are on the same team as Matt Shaw, Owen Caissie, and James Triantos.
