American League Triple Crown-winning pitcher (that’s a thing, apparently) Tarik Skubal was dominant, and the Tigers just didn’t allow the Astros to get anything cooking at home.

Despite having to play two games yesterday and then travel to Milwaukee, the Mets didn’t seem too worse for the wear in their opener against the Brewers.

An extreme pitchers’ duel to open this series, with each of Cole Ragans and Corbin Burnes pitching like playoff aces. Bobby Witt Jr. drove in the only run of the game, naturally.

Padres 4, Braves 0 – San Diego Leads Series 1-0
The Braves, unlike the Mets, did seem a little beat up by the schedule (and their own injuries). Padres starter Michael King was the real star of this one, though, with 12 strikeouts over 7.0 scoreless innings. He just looked nasty.
