In Super Bowl XXXIX, Tom Brady and the Patriots took down the Eagles 24-21 to win their second-consecutive Super Bowl. The game was played at Alltel Stadium in Jacksonville.

In Super Bowl LII, the Eagles defeated the Patriots 41-33 to win the first Super Bowl in franchise history.

How many Super Bowls have the Eagles won?

The Eagles have won the Super Bowl once. The franchise got its first title back in Super Bowl LII. Head coach Doug Pederson and quarterback Nick Foles led the Eagles to their first Lombardi Trophy.

The Eagles beat Tom Brady and the Patriots 41-33 in Super Bowl 52 on February 4, 2018. Nick Foles won Super Bowl MVP. Before the Super Bowl era, the Eagles won 3 NFL Championships in 1948, 1949, and 1960.

Teams with the most Super Bowl wins

The NFL has had some storied franchises win multiple Super Bowl championships over the years. The Patriots, Steelers, 49ers, Cowboys, and more have deep Super Bowl histories to look through. But which team has won the most?

Patriots and Steelers – 6 Wins

Tom Brady, Bill Belichick, and the New England Patriots have won 6 Super Bowls. Their most recent came in Super Bowl LII vs the Los Angeles Rams in 2019. Their first was also against the Rams in Super Bowl XXXVI back in 2002.

The Steelers won 4 Super Bowls in 6 years back in the 70s and 80s with Terry Bradshaw playing quarterback. Then with Ben Roethlisberger, they won 2 in a 4-year span from the 2005-08 seasons.

49ers and Cowboys – 5 Wins

The Cowboys and 49ers dominated the 80s and 90s in the NFL. The 49ers won their first title in 1982 and captured their 5th in 1995. The Cowboys won 3 in 4 years in the early 90s as they defeated the Bills in Super Bowl XXVII and XXVIII. Their other two wins came in Super Bowl VI and XII.

Giants and Packers – 4 Wins

The Packers were the winners of the first two Super Bowls under coach Vince Lombardi. They then won a title with Brett Favre in 1997 and with Aaron Rodgers in 2011.

The Giants are known for beating Tom Brady and the Patriots twice. The first time ended the Patriots’ chance for a perfect 19-0 season. The second was in 2012. The Giants’ two other titles came in 1987 and 1991.

Broncos, Commanders, Raiders – 3 Wins

The Broncos won back-to-back in 1998-99 with quarterback John Elway and captured their 3rd in 2016 with Peyton Manning. Washington won 3 from 1983-92 and the Raiders won two in Oakland in 1977 and 1981 before taking a championship in Los Angeles in 1984.

Teams who have never won a Super Bowl

There are 12 teams that have never won a Super Bowl. A few have never made an appearance in the big game. The Eagles were the most recent team in the NFL to get their first Lombardi Trophy after winning Super Bowl LII. Here are the teams who haven’t won a Super Bowl yet.

Bills and Vikings – 4 appearances

The Bills reached 4-straight Super Bowls to start the 90s. They lost Super Bowl 25, 26, 27, and 28. Two of the losses were to the Dallas Cowboys.

The Vikings reached Super Bowls 4, 8, 9, and 11 but failed to pick up a win. They lost to four different opponents: The Chiefs, Dolphins, Steelers, and Raiders.

Bengals – 3 appearances

The Bengals fell 23-20 to the Los Angeles Rams in Super Bowl LVI. Before that, they had reached the big game only to lose in Super Bowl 16 and Super Bowl 23. Both losses came at the hands of Joe Montana and the San Francisco 49ers.

Falcons and Panthers – 2 appearances

The Falcons will always be remembered for blowing a 28-3 lead vs the New England Patriots in Super Bowl 51. They also lost to the Broncos back in Super Bowl 33.

The Panthers lost to the Broncos after a dominant performance from Von Miller in Super Bowl 50. Tom Brady and the Patriots beat Carolina in Super Bowl 38.

Chargers, Cardinals, Titans – 1 appearance

These teams reached the NFL’s biggest game just one time. The Chargers got crushed in Super Bowl 29 by the 49ers, the Cardinals lost on a late incredible TD pass vs the Steelers in Super Bowl 43, and the Titans were a yard short vs the Rams in Super Bowl 34.

Browns, Jaguars, Lions, Texans – 0 appearances

For these teams, there hasn’t even been the chance to win it all. The Jaguars and Browns have reached the AFC Championship game multiple times but haven’t been able to win.

The Lions haven’t won in a playoff game since January 5, 1992. The Texans have never made it past the Divisional Round.
