Fantasy Football QB Rankings, Who Should I Add Off Waiver Wires:
Derek Carr (Saints) was the highest recommended QB waiver wire pickup this week.
Analysis
Look, Iโm just gonna say it like it is. Derek Carr has been the best QB in the NFL through two weeks of action. His 43 fantasy points? Second to only Baker Mayfield. His 76.9% completion rate? Second. His 11.4 yards per attempt? First. His five touchdown passes? Tied for first.
His absurd 142.4 passer rating? First (by a lot). Carr is absolutely thriving in Klint Kubiakโs brand-new offense โ and honestly, it kind of makes sense. Kubiak was the 49ersโ passing game coordinator last season and appears to have brought that mindset to a New Orleans roster brimming with versatile offensive studs.
Alvin Kamara is Christian McCaffery, Chris Olave is Brandon Aiyuk, Taysom Hill is Deebo Samuel/George Kittle/Kyle Juszczyk, and Rashid Shaheed is Jauan Jennings (but better).
If itโs not obvious, that means Carr is Brock Purdy (last yearโs QB6), a role he seems more than capable of filling. Itโs early, I know, but Iโm buying into Kubiak, Carr, and the Saints in 2024. He should absolutely be added (and started) in one-QB leagues and Iโd recommend trading for him in two-QB leagues if his manager isnโt a believer.

Who are the best sleeper options in the Week 3 Fantasy Football QB Rankings?
Here are two of the best options to pick up on waiver wires, depending on your league size.
Gardner Minshew II (Raiders) vs. Panthers
The headline for this game is Andy Dalton taking over for Bryce Young at quarterback for the Panthers. In his lone start last year, Dalton threw for 361 yards and two touchdowns in Week 3 against the Seahawks. As encouraging as that stat line was, Minshew is the better streaming option in this matchup.
Minshew might not have a crazy high ceiling, but he is showing to have a decent floor with the Raiders. He has thrown for at least 257 yards and one touchdown in both of their two games.
With Davante Adams and Brock Bowers in the fold, he has dangerous weapons that can exploit a Panthers defense that has allowed 73 points this year. Minshew is still available in 95% of Yahoo leagues.
Sam Darnold (Vikings) vs. Texans
The Vikings being 2-0 with a win against the 49ers under their belt is a big surprise. With J.J. McCarthy (knee) lost for the season, Darnold has stabilized their quarterback position through two games. After throwing for 208 yards and two touchdowns against the Giants in Week 1, he threw for 268 yards and two touchdowns versus the 49ers on Sunday. The one negative was that he was picked off in both games.
The Texans have faced two inexperienced quarterbacks Anthony Richardson and Caleb Williams this year. They held Williams in check in Week 2, but Richardson had two passing touchdowns and a rushing touchdown in Week 1. They also struggled to slow down quarterbacks last season, ranking 30th in aFPA for the position.
With Darnold being rostered in just 14% of Yahoo leagues, heโs worth considering in deep forwards.
