Fantasy football busts are a sad, but important aspect of fielding a consistent winning team across the length of the long and sometimes arduous season.
Week 6 of the NFL season is always full of surprises, and it’s important to move with the tide of the season, but with only a few weeks in the books, it’s equally important not to overreact.

On the other hand, there’s no reason to continue rolling out players who are underperforming only to watch the score sit close to zero while he continues seeing nominal utilization. Below, we are going to run through every fantasy roster position and find some Week 6 Fantasy Football Busts that should remain on your bench or find themselves on the waiver wire.

Week 6 Fantasy Football Busts: Quarterbacks
Justin Herbert @ Broncos
Despite the week of rest, the vibes are not great for Justin Herbert in Week 6. We knew being a non-mobile QB in a Greg Roman offense was risky for fantasy purposes but it’s been worse than anticipated as he’s the QB30 with a meager 10.4 fantasy points per tilt.
This week Herbert gets a Denver defense that is yielding the second-fewest aFPA to QBs in 2024 and LA will be on the road in the Mile High City.
Deshaun Watson @ Eagles
While the matchup with Philly is actually favorable, the QB play from Deshaun Watson is not. His fantasy points have declined in each of the last four contests and this will be the Browns’ third straight road game, in arguably one of the most hostile environments.
Watson should be considered nothing more than a risky QB2 heading into Sunday’s matchup.

Week 6 Fantasy Football Busts: Running Backs
Jerome Ford @ Eagles
We knew Jerome Ford’s time in the sun would be fleeting this season and it appears we could be there. He hasn’t scored a touchdown since Week 1 and is averaging single-digit numbers in half-PPR scoring per week. The Browns are a tough team to count on for any fantasy production right now and a road game against a rested Eagles team doesn’t give off get-right vibes.
Trey Sermon @ Titans
You’ll always have Week 5 of the 2024 season, Trey Sermon truthers. His name alone causes some emotional trauma for some fantasy managers who invested heavily in the RB back in 2021, but he did fill in admirably for Jonathan Taylor last week with 15.3 half-PPR points as the RB10.
This week, however, he gets a tougher draw on the road in Tennessee, as D’Andre Swift, Josh Jacobs, and De’Von Achane all scored fewer than 5.4 points in half-PPR scoring against the Titans this season. Sermon is a flex at best if Taylor sits again.

Week 6 Fantasy Football Busts: Wide Receivers
Jakobi Meyers vs. Steelers
He’s been the WR1 for the Raiders with Davante Adams out and has made the best of his elevation. However, this week the Raiders will face a solid Pittsburgh defense with Aidan O’Connell under center. The Steelers rank 7th in WR aFPA and held Drake London and CeeDee Lamb to only 2.5 and 8.9 half-PPR points respectively, this season.
Chris Olave vs. Buccaneers
This matchup with Tampa Bay likely won’t be the vibe killer for Chris Olave, but his QB situation could be the culprit. While rookie Spencer Rattler getting the start in place of a hurt Derek Carr is exciting from a real football perspective, it may not be the best for Olave and Rashid Shaheed.
