British Open Payout Breakdown – Xander Schauffele put an exclamation point on Sunday with a final-round 65 at Royal Troon, pulling away from a crowded leaderboard to win his second major championship of the season. Schauffele finished the week at 9-under 275, two strokes clear of Justin Rose and Billy Horschel, adding a claret jug to his Wanamaker Trophy from this year’s PGA Championship at Valhalla.
Schauffele, 30, trailed 54-hole leader Horschel by one into the final day on the Scottish seaside links, and the San Diego State alum turned in a championship-worthy performance with Sunday’s low score by two strokes. The world No. 3 hung tough in Saturday’s heavy rains with a 2-under 69 to remain near the lead, and he took advantage of Sunday’s gentler conditions with six birdies and no bogeys, including a flawless 4-under 31 on the final nine.

Schauffele becomes the first player to win two majors in a season since 2018 and moves closer to Scottie Scheffler in the conversation for the world’s best player. As an eighth-year PGA TOUR member, he has clearly earned the title of Champion Golfer of the Year.
He recently secured a significant payout, making him a $50 million-man. He clinched his second major title of the year at the British Open, taking home the first-place prize of $3.1 million. This victory landed him among the top 20 all-time money winners on the PGA Tour. With a score of 9 under for the week, he surpassed Justin Rose (No. 9 on the career money list with over $64 million) and Billy Horschel (No. 32 with $39 million) by two shots.
This win brought Schauffele’s career earnings to $54,777,483, placing him at No. 15 on the career Tour money list, overtaking Jon Rahm, Hideki Matsuyama, and Rickie Fowler. Schauffele also claimed the PGA Championship in May, earning his first major championship title.
