Latest Mississippi Sports Betting News

In 2022, lawmakers introduced four sports betting bills that would allow for the expansion of online betting in the state. The push would be to legalize online sports betting for sportsbook apps everywhere instead of being confined to retail sportsbook locations. None of the bills made it through to the committee.

In early 2023, lawmakers in the state of Mississippi were able to sign HB 606 into sports betting law. This calls for 13 state legislators to complete a full analysis of all matters that pertain to online sports betting. They are mandated to complete the analysis by December 15, 2023.

For now, it looks like it will be at least until 2024 before there is any more movement on getting more betting online in Mississippi. Retail sports betting is king for now in sports wagering in the state.
